"Begin the new year square with every man." (i.e., pay your debts!) is an original quote from Robert B. Thomas (1766-1846), Founder of The Old Farmer's Almanac.

Under the guiding hand of its founder and first editor, Robert B. Thomas, the premiere issue of The Old Farmer's Almanac was published in 1792 during George Washington's first term as president. Although many other almanacs were being published at that time, Thomas's upstart almanac became an immediate success. The Almanac has grown to become America's oldest continuously published – and most popular – annual by never forgetting the foresightful words of Thomas, "Our main endeavour is to be useful, but with a pleasant degree of humor."

Finished Size: 11½" x 5" on 18 ct Charles Craft fabric. Designed by Barbara Bangser for The Posy Collection.

I have bought my husband the Farmers Almanac for his birthday (10/02/50) every year since 1972. I gave him his almanac last week and this week I discovered that I could get to 2017 almanac special edition which would include both the 1917 & 1817 editions. May I purchase just the 1917 and 1817 copies? How we would love those other two editions. Thank you, Patti
