Black Walnut Pocket Compass & Thermometer

These unique and rustic compass thermometers are handmade from handsome black walnut. No two are alike in shape or color! The wood has a deep rich color and varying amounts knots, cracks, defects, rough spots, and grain character. Our pocket-sized compass thermometers are perfect for hiking or gift giving. Strap one to your backpack or carry in your pocket for luck, they can take it.  Each compass thermometer is handmade in New Hampshire by a local craftsman of carved canes and walking sticks. Before the wood becomes a compass thermometer, it is sanded and coated with marine-grade polyurethane for a nice shine. Compass thermometers can be squarish, oblong, or round and will have a diameter of roughly 2" to 2.5" at the widest part, the thickness will vary from roughly .4" to .7". Again, no two are alike. Each compass thermometer will include a brown leather strap.
