Love the old farmers almanac calendars, lots of interesting information . We particularly appreciate the information on each day of special interest, especially days to put the American Flag out. We will always have one of your calendars .
I'm starting my first big gardening project which includes veggies and herbs, so I wanted a calendar that would help with my planning. This one is so beautiful and packed full of helpful and fascinating info that I wondered if the low price was correct. I will definitely be buying this calendar every year - not just for the gardening hints and tips - but for the wonderful pictures!
I having been getting The Old Farmer's Almanac Calendar for several years now. I am not a big gardener..live in a small space. But I learn so much about plants, planting..and love the advice, folklore, and beautiful illustrations. A perfect calendar for your gardening friends and family!
I would like to try the calendar
What is the best days to plant patatoes in April?
I love your Gardening Calendar - I received mine from the Paralyzed Veterans of America and I love it. Keep up the great work. How do I find a copy of the back of the month of February. I saved (?) mine, because I want to get some of the flowers pictured on the front for my yard; now I can't find it and no one knows what kind of flowers are pictured. I remember they are good ground cover...but that is it - hope you can help.
I would like to have more gardening notes for a garden. I mean growing things you can eat, not just look at and be pretty.
I am especially fond of this calendar and try to get it every year for my kitchen. I like the size (not so large as many other calendars) and the layout with interesting information flanking the picture each month. You don't have to be a gardener to enjoy this calendar.
The calendar is beautiful and so very fun each month to read the tidbits shared. Well worth the price. This will be on my Christmas gift list each year!
all I'd like to know is what zone is Hawaii in as I'm interested in what plants will grow better here in Hawaii with our climate. I can't find anything to say what zone we are in,
I brought the 2016 Farmers calander and like the Last page that shows the map on the right has a color coded yellow for canada blue for the norhern states white for where i live in Levittown PA 19057 and green for the south states lists plants and when to plan them example parsley march 1st to march 31st e for early l for late on some example turnips , spinach , peas and so on , is there a way i can see the last page for the 2017 Farmers almanac calander ?
I am looking for the calendar that gives the days for clearing land and underbrush. It also gives the days for turning under your garden or fields to prepare for spring planting.
I use The Farmer's Almanac but I also get the Llewellyn Moon Sign Book. It breaks down every hour to the minute for the typical tasks such as weed days, planting annuals, fertilizing etc. There is a learning curve that takes some study, but the moon sign break downs are on a chart. There are other things such as getting surgery during a decreasing moon with a favorable aspect to your sun sign....results in little to no bleeding....just chock full of goodness! Under $10
Love these calendars - have been ordering this one for a friend and myself for several years now - we both enjoy checking out the tips and tidbits of information as well as having a pretty picture to look at during our work day or at home (she keeps hers at work and mine has a home in my kitchen). Beautiful, inspiring, uplifting and educational - just love them!!
Does this calendar also show best days for planting flowers, herbs and succulents? I have used the almanac for years as my father in law always had one in the house.
I buy one every year, but this is first time at Almanac internet site.
I've already purchased the cooking Almanac earlier this year for my mother. Can't wait to give her this calendar, she will love it.
I buy this calendar every year. It is my favorite!
I love this calendar, had one for 2016. It was hard to find, even went to Barnes and Noble.
Please send me this 2017 calendar
Requesting for New Jersey, USA
I have purchased three of the Gardening Calendars, for several years, as X-Mas gifts. My sister-in-laws have come to depend on receiving them. They are beautiful and informative.
I love this calendar and look forward to the wonderful illustrations every year. The snipets of info above are always fun to read and informative. Knowing the moon names makes for good conversation.

I Would Appreciate Knowing if this Almanac Apply for Puerto Rico, and/or if You Have or Know of Another Resource available for Puerto Rico.
Does this calendar have days to plant each vegetable or fruit on the day it should be planted? I can't see the photo of the calendar? I can't garden much, but what my husband does plant we go by the signs & the plants do great I set & figure it out every year for him, but if this calendar has it wrote on the days to plant it would help me out so much..
I got a calendar from a funeral home with the info your asking about. I want Farmer's Almanac Calendar myself if it has the days to plant on it cause I set with moon dates, Moon's Astrological place in the zodiac, phases of the moon & time of the moon all at one time to figure the days to plant & what to plant. I thank God it's worked out good for us, but I want a calendar that will tell me without me searching for the days to plant. Good luck with gardening..
I love this calendar each year!! It has such interesting info and very useful tips on gardening.
Maybe you mean the Moon signs book put out by Llewelyn. Better still ask a librarian. They would likely be familiar.
I bet it was the Harris farmers almanac. It has been around longer than the old farmers almanac.
I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. I haven't been able to find them anymore. I used to get them from local businesses in small country towns. No more. Each day showed the phase of the moon. The crescent pointing up or down etc. We'd cut our hair accordingly.
Thank you Neil, I was just reading through some of the comments that were left by random people and upon reading yours, you just convinced me that this Almanac Calendar is what I need to make my way of doing things better and easier for myself. I'm convinced! Thanks! Cora
This hangs in my kitchen. My go to calender for the whole family to post on.
There were There were 3 books in my Granny's home that you had to respect at all cost. The Bible The Farmer's Almanac. and the Sears' and Roebuck. We lived the the mountains of appellations. This was the most staples in everyone's home. I am crying now. I will order the gardening one. I am so glad I came about this page by accident. I will be back!! I agree with Michelle Rochon. This to me the love I shared with her.
Hi, can you please advise if this calendar will be useful for gardening in Canada? Do you have a calendar for other regions in North America? I live in Ottawa, Ontario. Thanks
My mother told me a story about her & my dad planting green beans in Central TX (early 1940's) and her father happened to stop by and said that they would have beautiful bean plants, but no beans, that they were planting on the "work" side of the moon. They kind of chuckled, but sure enough; you guessed it, beautiful plants/no beans. I'm a believer! ! !
Nice post Niel! Am eager to give the calendar a gander.
I agree. I don't know that my grandparents used the almanac to plant their gardens, however, when I have a Garden of my own, I will be sure to use it.
does it adjust for East Tennessee? Does it include flowers?
Does it also show the astrological sign that the moon is in and give recommendations based on that?
I have bought this calendar every year now, going back to 1987. On each day, I print the high and low temp, and draw an icon to represent the day's weather. I further record my gardening activities, appointments, mowing, and travels, too. When each new month begins, I get out my old calendars and see what kind of weather to expect, what chores to do, etc. This has become an invaluable resource, and it's fun, as well! It's never too late to start your tradition.
Does your calendars show the moon phases?
My grandparents and parents depend on the Almanac to plant their gardens! I am following in their footsteps!
